Chico Fire Suppression Project (2003)
The Chico Fire Suppression Project took place in March-April 2003. The purpose was to evaluate the ability of radars, specifically the DOWs, to detect releases of water and fire retardants from helicopters and fixed wing aircraft. Preliminary results suggest that the DOW was able to detect the plumes.
